Advent
Dear Parents and Carers,
During the season of Advent, as we prepare for the coming of Christ, we will be supplementing our Collective Worship with a resource supplied by the Archbishop of York Youth Trust, called ‘Voices of Advent’; over 4 weeks we will look at the Nativity story from different points of view.
KS2 have also been given the opportunity to join an ‘Advent Club’, in which they can explore the themes further.
A selection of slides from the PowerPoint on which our thinking has been based can be found on our website under the ‘Parents tab on the Advent page’, should you wish to develop the ideas further at home.
You will see that last week’s focus of the innkeeper allowed us to think especially about homelessness ( we have our Trussell Trust collection point permanently in the school entrance), whilst this week we will be encouraging the children to think about children in the world who do not have the same advantages as them.
